Choirs team up for song

TWO Morpeth-based choirs are teaming up to present A Celebration of Song on Tuesday.

Morpeth Silver Singers meet at St James Community Centre under the leadership of Bridie Jackson and New Voices Morpeth, led by Anne Suggate, are based at St Robert’s Church Hall.

Members of both of these mixed community choirs sing for fun in an informal and supportive environment. Their material is a wide mix of world music, pop songs, folk songs, spirituals and rounds.

The concert will take place in St George’s United Reformed Church in Bridge Street, from 7.30pm. Tickets, which are available on the door, are priced at £5 with accompanied children going free. For more information telephone 01670 852445.
