THE festive spirit was alive at an annual music event in Morpeth.
Morpeth Silver Singers, part of the 20,000 Voices initiative, performed a Christmas concert for family and friends at St James’ Community Centre in Wellway.
It included a mixture of carols and other songs and there were also some Christmas readings.
Sally-Anne Woolley, a member of the group’s committee, said: “All 60 choir members look forward to the concert every year and once again, everyone had a great time.”
Morpeth Silver Singers meet on Tuesday mornings at the centre under the leadership of musician Bridie Jackson. She performed at Glastonbury this year with her band – Bridie Jackson and the Arbour.
The choir, open to people over the age of 50, performed for the final time this year at Heighley Gate on Tuesday. The next session after the Christmas break will take place on January 7. Fees are £4 per session. For more information, email email@example.com
