An opening event was held last Friday and it included a concert that began with a performance from Kathryn Tickell, exponent of the Northumbrian small pipes.

There was also plenty of warm applause for the seven students who showcased their talents – Robyn Bartlett, Peter Bredin-Kemp, Rebecca Megwa, Ben Peters, Marion Peters, Tristan Selden and Jack Ward.

In the following video, KEVI executive headteacher Simon Taylor speaks about the transformation of the building, there is footage from the concert and there are views from two of the rooms.
