A NEW series of Morpeth’s popular Lunchtime Concerts will begin next week.
The first performance on Wednesday features a woodwind trio from the Royal College of Music in Manchester, led by bassoonist Richard Ion.
Young musicians from King Edward VI School will entertain on Wednesday, February 15, and on Wednesday, March 7 there will be a recital by students from The Sage, Gateshead, who are pupils of David and Jennifer Murray.
The final concert of the series, on Wednesday, April 4, features professional soprano Allie Read and some of her students.
The season offers a mix of youth and experience, from first-time performers to seasoned professionals.
Concerts are held at St George’s United Reformed Church, starting at 12.30pm and lasting for about an hour.
