MUSICIANS are tuning up for the 99th Wansbeck Music Festival.
The first part of the event will run in Morpeth next week, with a range of competition classes.
Morpeth Mayor Ken Brown will officially open the festival at St George’s United Reformed Church on Thursday, March 10, at 9.30am, which will be followed by the recorder classes.
In the afternoon, there will be a recorder workshop at the church at 1pm, and the steel band section will take place at Chantry Middle School at 6.30pm.
On Friday, the action returns to St George’s for the woodwind classes, and the venue will also host the piano and vocal competitions on Saturday.
The adjudicator will be Marilynne Davies.
Admission costs £2 each for the morning or afternoon sessions, or £3 to attend both. Entry to the Thursday evening event is by donation.
