Music for peace initiative

A CONCERT is being held in Morpeth on Saturday from 7pm to support a Middle East peace initiative.

Archbishop Elias Chacour of Galilee has worked to bring young people together in Israel over five decades through the building of multi-faith schools and the event at St George’s Church, Bridge Street, will raise funds for equipment at his latest school in Haifa.

Those performing at the concert – which has been put together by national charity ASHRAY, founded locally – include Rebecca Megwa (soprano), Jonathan Roxburgh (baritone) and Ruth Gillies (flute). Tickets, which include a glass of wine or fruit juice, are £5.
