SONGS from both sides of the Pond were played during an entertaining night at a village venue.
The first half of the debut show by the Pegswood Performing Arts group celebrated music from the USA. There were tunes originally performed by artists such as Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, the Supremes, Donald O’Connor, Ethel Merman and Harry Nilsson and the hits included ‘There is Nothing Like a Dame’ and ‘Islands in the Stream’.
The second half of the event at Pegswood Community Hub was more local and British songs and there was a great set by the three members of Loose Change, who were joined for part of it by Emma-Jane Anderson.
In the middle was something different. Two pre-recorded songs were shown on the television screen of one of the hub’s members, who was at that point in time part way through a sponsored challenge along part of Hadrian’s Wall to raise money for the venue.
