THE ghost of Christmas present was brought to life at a busy shopping centre as carollers collected a gift for poorly children.
The New Dickensians took to the Edwardian-style gallery in Morpeth’s Sanderson Arcade to perform a selection of traditional carols and Christmas songs.
The singers and musicians were dressed as if they had just stepped out of the pages of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.
And despite the cold, wet weather, their Christmas cheer and colourful outfits proved a hit with shoppers as they collected £120 for The Sick Children’s Trust.
The fund is the arcade’s chosen charity of the year.
