Summer nights are coming early to Ponteland High School thanks to a new production of the hit musical ‘Grease’.
Back by popular demand, this is a repeat of the outstanding school production staged back in 2012.
Students are currently hard at work, preparing for the opening night, which is set for 7pm on Wednesday, November 30, at Ponteland Memorial Hall.
Subsequent performances are at the same time on Thursday, December 1 and Friday, December 2, with a matinee on Saturday, December 3, at 2pm.
“‘Grease’ is a massively-popular show, particularly with young people, and there’s a real buzz of excitement about this production,” said the show’s director, English teacher Mrs Christine Heath.
Everyone at Ponteland High has had an opportunity to get involved in the fun, thanks to an art competition to design promotional posters and tickets.
And the tickets for the production will be available soon.
Headteacher Kieran McGrane said: “There’s a real wealth of musical and acting talent at Ponteland High, and this show is lots of fun for cast members.
“My hope is that the cast get to show their talents in front of packed audiences at each performance.”
