WELL shiver me timbers, there be a search for pirates in Ponteland.
Rehearsals are already under way for Ponteland Repertory Society’s production of Peter Pan the Musical.
But not all is ship-shape in the camp as there is a serious lack of pirates.
Despite members chasing their contacts, attempting to press-gang family members and even approaching total strangers to take on the role, the group is no further forward with its recruitment drive.
And if not enough villains can be found, the whole show could be in jeopardy.
The society is seeking men of any age who will be able to attend rehearsals in Ponteland on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and can commit to taking part in the production from Tuesday, November 27 to Saturday, December 1.
Director Jonathan Cash said: “Some signing or drama experience would be good, but enthusiasm is the main requirement.
“Filled with beautiful melodies and toe-tapping rhythms, it’s a captivating show with all the colour, spectacle and sheer delight you would expect in the run-up to Christmas.
“Anyone joining the cast is sure to have a great time so I’d urge anyone with the slightest interest to get in touch as soon as possible.”
