Mystery, murder and a guinea pig

ST George’s Community Players in Morpeth tread the boards next week with their spring production — a farcical chiller.

The play Wanted — One Body!, by Raymond Dyer, is set around the family home of the late Charles Barraclough and the fortune he has left for his heirs. But who stands to inherit, and will it be by foul means or fair?

Grieving family and faithful servants wait with bated breath to hear the last will and testament, only to discover that this death holds nothing but surprises as the body count increases.

The classic old mansion mystery features bumbling solicitors, brooding chauffeurs and Hector, the family guinea pig. Who will be the next victim and is Charles Barraclough really even dead? Only time will tell.

The play runs for three nights in St George’s Church Hall from Thursday, March 17, to Friday, March 19, starting at 7.30pm.

Tickets are available from the Chantry Tourist Information Centre priced at £5 adults and £4 concessions.
