A new Berwick-upon-Tweed based Business Support Programme, Bitesize Business, will be jointly delivered by Business Northumberland and NBSL.

The programme will deliver a coordinated package of business support from the joint providers to ensure businesses have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of training provision aimed at boosting business performance.

David Jackson, Skills Manager from NBSL, said: “We're delighted to be supporting the Welcome Visitor project and the Berwick-upon-Tweed Ambassador programme, as they work to build Berwick-upon-Tweed as a tourist destination and encourage visitors to go their own way discovering the best that life in Berwick-upon-Tweed has to offer.

“We are joining forces with Business Northumberland and their digital programme to provide the skills and support businesses in Berwick-upon-Tweed need.

“This investment will create a lasting legacy and build on the bright future for Berwick-upon-Tweed.”

The programme was developed after the Welcome Visitor Project worked in partnership with Berwick Chamber of Trade and the NNTA to co-ordinate a Business Survey, primarily of tourism related businesses, to establish identified training needs.

The Bitesize Business programme will run from November 2019 to March 2020 and will be based at various central locations within the town.

The welcome visitor project and NBSL with primarily focus on tourism businesses, and Business Northumberland will be available to all sectors.

The launch event will be held on Tuesday November 12 from 11am to 2pm at The Kings Arms Hotel Berwick-upon-Tweed. Tea, coffee and lunch will be provided.

The event is a drop-in session, where people can go along for an informal chat, meet the team, ask any questions and sign up for free business support.
