Doorstep delivery service by Morrisons helps 350 households in the Berwick area

Primarily assisting those with no other support system, Morrisons doorstep delivery service has distributed critical supplies and groceries with no delivery fee to 350 households in recent weeks, and they are working to address the needs of even more residents.

Store manager Sharon McKendrick said: “Morrisons Berwick has been leading the effort to support our vulnerable and elderly populations in the town and outlying areas. We look forward to continuing to work hard for the community during this difficult time.”

In such a trying time, there is a need in the community that is not being met to fully assist those at high risk, and Morrisons Berwick is stepping up to the challenge.

The National Health Service has classified those at high risk into two groups: the clinically extremely vulnerable and the clinically vulnerable. Morrisons is willing and ready to help anyone in these high-risk categories if their needs aren't currently being met.

“Any support we can offer the community, we will happily provide,” said Sharon.

“We have the resources to assist more households while the crisis persists. If you need help please contact us.”

The public safety and wellbeing of the residents of Berwick and the surrounding areas is paramount to the staff at Morrisons Berwick as they continue providing essential supplies through their doorstep delivery service. To further protect their customers they are accepting only contactless and mobile payments at this time.

Since the beginning of the crisis, Morrisons has been acting to protect the vulnerable and assure they have the supplies they need to make it through this pandemic. This free delivery is for those who have no other options for booking home delivery or are unable to do so for any reason.
