Vet charity PDSA launched the award, designed to teach the next generation of pet owners about caring for pets, last year.

The Church of England Aided school in Lancaster Park dedicated time each week to complete the modules, working their way up through the four easy-to-follow levels.

Ailsa Jones, PDSA’s group head of veterinary services, presented the school with a certificate and special glass plaque.

She said: “Our PetWise for Schools award is designed to be a curriculum-linked programme.

“It teaches first school/primary school children about pets’ welfare needs in both a fun and engaging way.”
