Chantry Middle School pupils with the Elmer the school is putting forward, called Day and Night in the Rainforest.

Chantry Middle School has been involved with Elmer's Great North Parade initiative in aid of St Oswald's Hospice.

Pupils were asked to design a large, fibreglass Elmer the Elephant sculpture, which will be exhibited in the North East along with some even larger artist-designed elephants.

The winners and some of the runners-up had fun painting the school’s Elmer.

Ryan-Lee and Naomi were the Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 winners respectively.

The runners-up were Lucy, Rachel, Felicity, Emma, Eva and Katie.
