Guy Opperman drops in on an English lesson at PCMS, with pupils reading The Hound of the Baskervilles.

It was an opportunity to speak with headteacher Caroline Pryer about preparations for the school’s transition to a primary in September 2020, as well as for the Hexham MP to tour the school and have a chat with teachers and pupils.

He said afterwards: “PCMS is a wonderful school, with a great record of learning and pupil development.

“It was encouraging to hear from Caroline about how well the plans are progressing for the transition to a primary school and to offer my support as the school continues to navigate this process.”

Dr Pryer thanked Mr Opperman for his support.
