A FLORAL feast for the eyes will be found at a garden centre this month in the Morpeth Chrysanthemum Society Annual Show.
The event will be held at Heighley Gate Nursery and Garden Centre, off the A697, for the 20th year.
More than 100 displays are expected, including entries by national champions, and prizes will be awarded for first, second and third places in 13 classes.
There will also be a Heighley Gate Trophy.
There is still time for people to take part in the show, with entries invited up to 8.45am on Saturday, September 24.
Heighley Gate General Manager Roger Wale said: “This is the 20th year we have held the Morpeth Chrysanthemum Society Annual Show at the garden centre and it is always a huge success.
“The flowers are always absolutely beautiful so we hope lots of people come along to enjoy the show.
“We would also like to encourage as many people as possible to enter the competition this year to ensure its continued success.”
The show will be judged by National Chrysanthemum Society judge Peter Fraser, who has been growing and exhibiting the blooms for more than 30 years. He has also been breeding them since 1996.
Entrants can organise their displays at the centre from 5.30pm to 9.30pm on Friday, September 23, and from 6.30am to 9am the following day.
Judging will take place from 9am to noon on Saturday, September 24 and the show will be open to the public from noon to 4.30pm.
It will also run on Sunday, September 25, from 9am to 1.30pm.
Customers will be able to buy the competition entries after the show is over on Sunday, with all proceeds going to the Morpeth Chrysanthemum Society.
