With Christmas now less than two months away, it’s time for Heighley Gate Garden Centre, near Morpeth, to stage its annual festive display.

There are only eight weeks to go until Christmas, so the garden centre, part of the Wyevale chain, is launching its festive range at a special event on Thursday.

The venue is gearing itself up to welcome more than 240,000 customers between now and the big day.

And to mark the approach of the festive period and spread additional seasonal cheer, customers will be able to get an extra 10 per cent off in the Christmas shop and a further 25 per cent off all string lights and replica trees.

The launch event will also feature live music and food and drink-sampling, and if you take your family along between 6pm and 8pm tonight, a photographer will be on hand to take a festive family picture.

Centre manager Adrian Drake said: “At the garden centre, we want to give our customers a little bit of extra Christmas wonder this year.

“We have planned one of our most exciting festive events programmes to date and will be offering a relaxed shopping environment within a magical Christmas atmosphere.

“Our all-round shopping experience is better than ever before.

“With inspirational Christmas ranges showcased through spectacular displays in our centre, we can’t wait to welcome everyone.”

Last week, the garden centre unveiled its new look after a redevelopment.

Its yuletide event takes place on Thursday from 4pm until 8.30pm.
