We’ve just dug up, chopped and consigned to the compost bin, some of the best Brussels sprouts grown here for years.
The group of Trafalgar was sown last March, grown on in pots and planted out in May. They grew to one metre, needing cane supports, and cropping began in November.
Last week we called a halt to picking these large, mild, tasty sprouts having just sown this year’s seeds. Young plants are on sale at the garden centre now. Give them a try and see what you think!
