Reunion has a taste of Spain

A MORPETH school reunion will be spiced up with a sizzling Spanish barbecue.

Former classmates from King Edward VI School (KEVI) are planning a get together for the class of ‘81, or ‘79 for those who left after O-Levels.

The event will take place at La Bodega’s Tapas Bar in Newgate Street, which is run by former KEVI pupil April Atkinson, nee Wright.

Organisers have already had fun pouring over old photographs from their school days and they hope to make a memory wall of pictures and stories so even those who can’t attend the reunion are asked to submit some entries.

Founder member of the reunion team Katrina Cassidy said: “I’ve had such a lot of fun planning this and can’t wait to catch up on what everyone’s been up to over the past 30 years, as well as remember some of the hilarious stories of school days.

“Don’t miss out — this is going to be a barbecue to remember for the next 30 years.”

The reunion will be held on Saturday, June 25, from 1pm to 5pm. Tickets cost £10 in advance, or £12 on the day, to cover the cost of food.

Anyone wishing to attend should book their place at La Bodega, call 01670 516055, or email Keep up to date on Facebook at KEVI 30 year reunion 1981-2011, or on Friends Reunited.
