A festival that celebrates all things culinary is returning to Morpeth for another year.
Due to the huge success of the 2015 Morpeth Food and Drink Festival, which brought hundreds of visitors into the town, the event organisers are already making plans for 2016 to make this year’s event bigger and better than ever.
For a second year running stalls will be erected along Bridge Street, once again linking the monthly Morpeth Farmers’ Market and Morpeth Town Hall.
The Market Place will also host the popular demonstration kitchen where local chefs will show off their culinary skills.
As well as a fantastic line-up of demonstrations, products and delicious local food and drink, the Morpeth Jam and Scone Competitions will also be staged, with entries due to open later in the year.
Zoe Christopher, from Sanderson Arcade, member of the Morpeth Food and Drink Festival Committee, said: “We are starting to plan the event even earlier this year due to the fantastic feedback we have received about the 2015 event. We are already receiving bookings and enquiries, and planning is definitely getting under way for October.
“Booking forms are now available and we are encouraging traders to reserve their space as soon as possible.”
The festival is completely self-funded and the organisers are also looking for local sponsors to support the 2016 event.
