An eight-year-old girl from Morpeth recently lost her long locks in aid of a good cause.
Imogen Jones, who attends Abbeyfields First School, had about 10 inches cut off and the plait has been donated to the Little Princess Trust – which provides real-hair wigs free of charge to children in the UK and Ireland who lose their hair during cancer treatment.
She also asked family, friends and others for donations to the charity and more than £1,000 has been raised.
Proud parents Lynsey and Tim said Imogen had previously only had her hair trimmed, so when she found out about Little Princess Trust, she wanted the cut because she knew she had enough hair to donate to the charity.
It took place at Katie Patton Hairdressing in Bedlington.
