KIRKLEY WI held its general meeting in November with WIA Jo Dixon in attendance.
The Secretary, Treasurer and President reported their impressions of the last year. The committee was re-elected, with Judith Arthur as President.
The national WI baton will be in Ponteland on March 14. The Secretary and Treasurer will attend as the Institute’s representatives.
The Christmas meeting will be a lunch on Wednesday, December 4.
Eleanor Nicholson gave a vote of thanks to the officials and the committee for their work during the last year.
As this is a special year for Kirkley WI, a 1960s quiz had been planned by Margaret Neil.
Six groups of members, who gave themselves wonderful titles, took part answering questions about politics, music and sport. The winning team was the Swinging Sixties.All the teams proved they had good memories and were good sports.
The memorabilia table was well supported with members’ handicrafts and collections of photographs.
