Tritlington Young Farmers Club (YFC) is holding an event on Saturday that promises plenty of entertainment and tasty treats.

There will be a bar, live music, an auction and a disco at the Steak and Strawberries Afternoon, which will take place in a marquee at Todburn East Farm, Longhorsley. Tickets are £20 each, this includes a quality steak meal followed by strawberries and ice cream.

Last year’s event raised £6,000 for Daft as a Brush Cancer Patient Care – two charities get funds this year.

The money for Bowel Cancer UK will be in memory of Andrew Manners, who farmed at Chevington Moor, who died earlier this year from bowel cancer. He was chairman of Tritlington YFC for many years.

The other is My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, Doddie Weir’s charity for research in to Motor Neurone Disease.

To book tickets for the event, which will run from 4pm till late, call Ed Dungait on 07746 230860.
