Police are appealing for witnesses after a collision in Ponteland at the weekend that resulted in a pensioner being taken to hospital.
At 11.26am on Sunday, Northumbria Police received a report of a collision involving one vehicle and a pedestrian on Callerton Lane.
Emergency services attended and the pedestrian – an 85-year-old woman – was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the vehicle, a blue Ford Fiesta, was not injured.
The road was closed for an hour while emergency services attended.
Inquiries are on-going and anyone who saw what happened is being asked to contact police.
