Visitor numbers soared at Morpeth’s Sanderson Arcade as it held its Easter eggstravaganza.
Footfall was up 12 per cent on the Easter weekend last year, with more than 12,000 people passing through.
Youngsters enjoyed an Easter Egg Hunt, face=painting and cupcake decorating workshops, as well as the chance to try out Heart FM’s oversize deckchair as presenters Kelly Scott and Tom Campbell hosted the event.
Kerry Dodds, from Bedlington, had an extra special day as she won a £500 shopping spree.
And the event also marked the opening of the arcade’s newest store, Pol Kefton Home.
Award-winning chef Terry Laybourne cut the ribbon on the shop, before hosting cookery demonstrations, showing how to make fish and steak dishes, and raspberry souffle.
Arcade Manager Medi Parry said: “We are really pleased to have the Pol Kefton team here at the arcade. The new store looks lovely and certainly brings something completely different to the centre.
“It was great to welcome so many visitors to Sanderson Arcade for the new store opening and for our Easter event.”
