Northumbria Police officer Pam Bridges is the new neighbourhood inspector for Tynedale.

Pam Bridges is an experienced officer who first joined the force 26 years ago.

She now manages teams of neighbourhood officers based in East Tynedale (which includes Ponteland, Prudhoe and Corbridge) and West Tynedale.

Inspector Bridges has worked in a variety of roles and area commands in locations across the force area, such as Newcastle, South Tyneside and North Tyneside.

They include being a neighbourhood inspector in both Cramlington and Killingworth and a force incident manager, which involves managing the initial response for critical incidents.

Now based at Hexham Police Station, she said: “I’m really enjoying working as a neighbourhood inspector in Tynedale and getting to know local communities, residents, partner agencies and businesses.

“To me, this is all about increasing public confidence and satisfaction in policing – as well as driving down crime and disorder.

“I’m particularly keen to ensure vulnerable victims are supported and police deal effectively with issues that are important to our communities here in Northumberland.

“I’m looking forward to getting out and meeting people in both the rural areas and our towns and villages, so if you do see me out and about, please stop and introduce yourself.”

Inspector Bridges replaces Inspector Kevin Oates, who is now a 24/7 response inspector based in Northumberland.
