A renowned North East comedian has joined the campaign to find a Northumberland woman who went missing on Boxing Day.
South Shields-born Sarah Millican has retweeted a message and missing poster, as part of the ongoing search for Sally Allan, from Errington Road, Darras Hall, Ponteland, who has not been seen since the early hours of December 26 when she left her home address sometime before 3am. The 59-year-old is described as white, 5ft 7" tall, slim build, with short silver/grey hair and may be wearing gold-rimmed glasses. She was believed to be wearing pink pyjamas, a cream-coloured fleece and cream-coloured Regatta waterproof anorak. It is out of character for Mrs Allan to go missing and her family are worried about her.
Millican, 40, retweeted Laurie Mackay's post which read: '@SarahMillican75 please RT my friends mum been missing for almost 48hrs. #Search4Sally'. The twitter message also featured a missing poster which has been created as part of the search for Mrs Allan.
A Search 4 Sally Facebook group has been set up on social-networking site Facebook and her son Clive has made a special video appealing for the public's help to find her. There was also a strong turn out at a group search this morning.
Today, a Northumbria Police spokeswoman said that officers are continuing to carry out inquiries to locate Mrs Allan. Officers are appealing for her to make contact with them, or anyone who recognises her to call police straightaway. Anyone with information is asked to contact Northumbria Police on 101, quoting log number 258 26/12/15.
