Bank’s big funding boost for groups

A £150,000 initiative that will provide money to voluntary and community organisations in Northumberland and Tyne and Wear has been launched.

These groups are being urged to apply to the Virgin Money Community Fund at the Community Foundation for funding of between £5,000 and £15,000.

It will support organisations that work to help young people achieve more by overcoming barriers such as homelessness, mental ill health and low educational attainment and help adults and young people into work through various means.

Jo Barnett, head of social enterprise at Virgin Money, said: “We are delighted to invest in local groups through the Community Foundation and looking forward to what we can achieve together.”

The first round of funding deadline is Tuesday. Visit
