Colourful characters sprang out of the pages as Morpeth schools and nurseries celebrated World Book Day.
At All Saints First School in Lancaster Park, children from nursery to year 4 joined in with lots of exciting activities throughout the week.
The library was transformed into a space room and on the day itself last Friday, pupils and staff dressed up as various storybook characters.
They have also been supporting Oxfam and took the opportunity during the week to explore key world issues.
As part of this, the Oxfam charity shop in Morpeth town centre will be displaying pupils’ letters about poverty, climate change and their wishes for our world.
Youngsters at St Robert’s RC First School in Oldgate enjoyed various activities, including a costume parade and coming up with an original design for a book cover.
A storyteller came along to the school to entertain pupils and parents had the opportunity to read to their children in the classroom.
And at the Bolland Day Nursery in Pottery Bank, little ones and staff were dressed up as their favourite character from a book.
