The shortlist has been announced to crown the top of the shops.

The Sanderson Arcade awards, sponsored by Cookswell Citroen, aim to reward good practice and customer service at the Morpeth centre.

Now judges have revealed the shortlist.

Zoe Peake of Fat Face, Sarah Silcock of The Corbridge Larder and Sally Gawland of Laura Ashley are going for Manager of the Year, with Andrew Balfour of Laura Ashley, Rachel Peverley of JoJo Maman Bebe and Emma Storey from Mountain Warehouse in the running for the Young Achiever award.

The Customer Service Team shortlist is made up of Crew Clothing, Hobbs, East, Marks and Spencer and Waterstones, and going for the Independent Retailer award is Castle Chiropractic, Pink’s Nail Boutique and Sam Allan Estates. There are two up for Community Engagement — Marks and Spencer and Pinky’s Nail Boutique.

There is also a Retailer of the Year award, which is decided by a public vote. Voting is open online until Monday, October 20.

In addition, to mark the fifth anniversary of the arcade, a gong will be dished out for the team or individual who has made a special contribution to the centre over the past five years.

Centre Manager Medi Parry said: “We’ve had a great response to the awards this year and as ever, it’s been really hard coming up with a final shortlist. We’re really keen to make it a very special event as we’re also celebrating the centre’s fifth anniversary.”

The awards will be presented at Barluga on Wednesday, October 22. To vote for Retailer of the Year visit
