Charity cash blossoms

A CHARITY appeal in Morpeth has helped to raise funds for cancer care.

Leeds Building Society has collected more than £1,500 for the Marie Curie Cancer Care Daffodil Appeal by accepting donations at its branches.

The Morpeth office in Bridge Street helped to take part in the appeal, which raises money for nursing care for people with a terminal illness.

Morpeth Branch Manager Denise Godwin said: “We are delighted that we have been able to contribute to the overall fund-raising effort from the society at the Morpeth branch by accepting donations from members of the public for the daffodils.

“People have been very generous this year and our staff at the branch also got into the spirit throughout the campaign.”
