Event aims to boost sales of local goods

More than 200 businesses have signed up for a major countywide networking event – and more places are available.

The Meet The Maker, Meet The Buyer event has been organised by Northumberland County Council to boost the sale of locally made goods.

More than 100 makers have signed up to promote their wares, including food and drink producers, artists and musicians, and more than 100 buyers have booked free tickets to attend.

The event is expected to appeal to people in the hospitality, retail, accommodation and tourist attraction industries, as well as those looking to buy art for their shops and showrooms.

It will take place at Blyth Sports Centre on Thursday, February 26. Free tickets can be booked at www.bit.ly/maker15
