Factory shop bucks the trend

BUSINESS is booming for a Morpeth store, new figures show.

The Original Factory Shop in the Market Place has seen like-for-like sales increase six per cent for the first half of the financial year compared to 2011.

The best performing areas were hardware and electricals, which were up 23.4 per cent, and homewear, with an increase of 19.7 per cent.

A spokesman for the store said: “We’re well aware of how challenging the economy has become, both for businesses and shoppers, so for us to keep performing like we’ve been since the start of the year is nothing short of fantastic.

“It proves that with the right combination of quality products at factory shop prices and great customer service you can still be a success on the high street.”

The company as a whole saw like-for-like sales increase 5.8 per cent.
