A business is banking on the tea trade for its latest charity appeal.
The Morpeth branch of Newcastle Building Society is asking customers to spare a thought for charity when they next sit down for a cuppa, and donate some teabags.
The tea, which must be sealed for hygiene purposes, will be passed on to a foodbank.
And for every teabag collected, the society will donate 5p to the Stephen Carey Fund, up to £150.
The charity works to raise awareness of first aid skills and provide life-saving equipment.
Branch Manager Katie Wallace said: “The reason behind this tea campaign is to highlight the importance of people getting together and talking.”
Donations should be handed in by September 4.
