NHS staff in Northumberland are getting a clean bill of health, thanks to a series of workplace initiatives.
Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust, which provides mental health services in the region, including at St George’s Park and Northgate Hospital in Morpeth, is hosting a number of events to help keep staff healthy and happy.
The programme includes awareness days, back care events and Movember activities, and in August more than 40 teams took part in a month-long pedometer challenge to see who could walk the furthest.
In total they walked 48,178,641 steps — the equivalent of 22,812 miles.
The winning team of estate department staff John Carson, Claire Watson, Danni Littlewood and Bev Nelson, walked 2,533,542 steps.
