Improvement for region

NORTH East firms experienced an upsurge in sales and orders at the beginning of 2013 due to growth in manufacturing, according to a new poll.

The first quarter figures in the North East Chamber of Commerce’s Quarterly Economic Survey show that both have increased since the end of 2012 in the UK and exports. The organisation said that although sales and orders in total have not quite reached the peak seen in early 2012, the manufacturing sector has returned to these levels by achieving a strong recovery.
