There will be a whole host of Hallowe’en treats at Morpeth market next week.
The Wednesday event will help residents and shoppers to get in the mood for the celebration with free face-painting in the Market Place, from 10am to 2pm, where younger visitors can be transformed into a ghostly ghoul, a creepy spider or some other scary sight.
There will be a special visit from four owls from the Whitehouse Farm Centre, near Stannington.
And there will also be live music to entertain people with a set of spooky tunes.
The theme will continue among the 20 stalls, where produce ranges from the all-important Hallowe’en pumpkins to rosy apples for bobbing, while treats will come in the form of Benny’s Macaroons, as well as ginger snaps and pies.
The market is managed by Northumberland County Council and Sanderson Arcade, working in partnership with Morpeth Town Council, the Morpeth and District Chamber of Trade and other local organisations through the Morpeth Market Working Group.
