A MORPETH business group has backed its leader for a third term.
John Beynon will keep the reins as Chairman of the Morpeth and District Chamber of Trade for the third year running after a members’ vote.
Mr Beynon said: “It is been a difficult year to say the least, but the chamber has come through it.
“We are stronger than we have ever been, but there is not one person who has done that, it has been the whole chamber. Everyone in the chamber who has come along and helped out is part of that success.
“I can only see the chamber going from strength to strength.”
He added that it is preferably to change the group’s chairmanship every two years, but as Vice-Chairman Debbie Anderson has now left the organisation after moving away from the area, he will carry on in the role for another year.
A new Vice-Chairman will be appointed at the group’s next meeting.
