Kirkley Hall, near Ponteland, has been named as the North East’s wedding venue of the year.
The venue received the accolade at the 2015 North of England Wedding Awards held at York Racecourse by the Wedding Guide UK.
The awards aim to reward client service excellence and recognise businesses that go the extra mile for their customers.
Entrants are judged on criteria including service excellence, product quality, value for money and outstanding commitment.
Wayne Vickers, general manager of the hall, a campus for Ashington’s Northumberland College, said: “Myself and all of the team are completely overjoyed by this fantastic achievement.
“We are always grateful just having the privilege to be part of a couple’s special day, so to get recognition for first-class services provided by the whole team makes all the hard work worthwhile.
“Competition in our category was very strong, seeing us up against some extremely well-established and credible venues, so we were honoured to make it through as a finalist. To go on and win the award was unbelievable”
Kirkley Hall is grade II-listed and has several function rooms available for weddings, all looking out onto the 17th century rural estate’s 190 acres of grounds and gardens.
Last financial year, the hall hosted a record 82 weddings.
Wedding parties are given exclusive use of the main hall, patio and lawn throughout their special days.
The hall is holding a wedding fair on Sunday, October 4, from noon to 4pm. Admission is free. For details, go to www.kirkleyhall.co.uk
