A MORPETH business group has made some new appointments.
At its latest meeting, Morpeth and District Chamber of Trade Chairman John Beynon was able to introduce the new Treasurer Mark Trill, who has been tasked with setting up new systems for looking after funds.
Mr Trill said that this will take time but he is confident that the new measures, which also include more communications with members relating to its finances, will be an improvement.
Mr Beynon also introduced Sue Williams, who has been appointed as temporary Secretary.
In addition to carrying out the administration and correspondence duties, she will be analysing the existing Chamber protocols and making changes to the communications systems between members and with its partners in the community.
The duo replace Val Pope, a former Treasurer and Secretary.
Later in the meeting, four new applications for membership – Beetroot Grill and Cafe, Express Taxis, Morpeth Golf Club and Greater Morpeth Development Trust – were unanimously accepted.
Kevin Parkinson of Benfield Morpeth has resigned from the group as he is moving to another dealership in Durham.
