Two top chefs have been appointed to lead the culinary team at a luxury Northumberland hotel.
Paul Blakey, who hails from Durham, has taken over as the Executive Head Chef at Matfen Hall Hotel, while Frenchman Nicolas Kleist, who has spent two years at the business, has been promoted to the post of Head Chef.
Mr Blakey moves from Doxford Hall Hotel and won the Great North Menu competition last year.
Mr Kleist trained at the world renowned Michelin-starred La Roche Le Roy under Alain Couturier and has worked at a number of Newcastle restaurants.
Matfen Hall Managing Director Bernard Bloodworth said: “We are delighted to welcome Paul and promote Nicolas in our team.
“We feel sure they will be an asset to Matfen Hall.”
