Swapping houses for history

MORPETH estate agents are checking out the value of an historic landmark in their latest charity challenge.

Staff from the town’s Strutt and Parker branch will be joining colleagues from Harrogate and Northallerton in a relay trek along Hadrian’s Wall.

The 84-mile challenge will be carried out by 36 workers to raise funds for the Wooden Spoon charity, which aims to harness the spirit of rugby to give disadvantaged children a chance to achieve their full potential.

It has helped to fund medical treatment, recovery centres, sports and activities, sensory rooms, gardens, playgrounds, hydrotherapy pools and outreach programmes.

Former England World Cup player Jason Leonard has signed a rugby ball, which will travel the country as each of Strutt and Parker’s 47 offices takes on a fund-raising event.

Donations can be made online at www.justgiving.com/struttandparkernorthern or in person at the agency’s Newgate Street office.
