BUILDING society customers in Morpeth have been thanked for their contribution to a series of charity campaigns.
Leeds Building Society has raised £1,200 for Variety, which works with disabled and disadvantaged children, by selling Star Wars heart badges in branches.
And a further £1,300 was collected for Marie Curie Cancer Care by selling its daffodil badges.
In addition, it has presented a cheque for £10,000 to the charity, relating to 0.10 percent of the balances in an affinity savings account offered by the society in conjunction with Marie Curie.
Morpeth Bridge Street branch customers contributed to the totals.
