Top tourism chief visits the county

A top tourism chief has travelled to Northumberland to connect with local businesses.

VisitEngland Head of Industry Development Pam Foden spent two days in the county, meeting accommodation providers.

She held a drop-in session at The Hog’s Head Inn in Alnwick and answered various questions, such as how to respond to reviews on TripAdvisor, and how the Quality in Tourism scheme works.

Ms Foden said: “The welcome we received over our two days in Northumberland was exceptionally warm.

“The businesses we met with were keen to learn new skills and find areas for improvement in order to provide the best experience for guests.”

VisitEngland will now be liaising with Northumberland Tourism to arrange training workshops.
