Moira Macfarlane, the chief executive of Citizens Advice Northumberland, has used Volunteers Week to thank the 170 volunteers who gave their time to the local charity over the last 12 months.
In the past year, the volunteers, along with paid members of staff, have helped more than 14,000 local people with problems, giving them advice on subjects such as debt, housing, employment, benefits and consumer.
Ms Macfarlane said: “Citizens Advice volunteers change lives.
“It is thanks to the generosity of our volunteers that Citizens Advice Northumberland is able to help people take control of their lives and deal with the problems they face.”
