A Morpeth schoolboy received a special Christmas treat for his family after coming up with a festive-themed design to be displayed on a new car.
A competition to draw a Perfect Christmas Day was organised by Stratstone Tyneside BMW and Sanderson Arcade as part of the shopping centre’s Christmas lights switch-on event last month.
And six-year-old Charlie Heaps’ entry was picked out as the winner.
It has now been displayed on the side of a brand new BMW X1, which his family were given the keys to for the weekend to help pick up some of the presents they will be giving to relatives and friends.
Charlie, who goes to Abbeyfields First School, drew a fabulous festive scene featuring Santa Claus sitting in his chair in front of a roaring fire surrounded by gifts and mistletoe.
The car was taken to Charlie’s school by Richard Dunne from Stratstone Tyneside BMW and Santa, who had been relieved of his duties from Heighley Gate Nursery and Garden Centre before heading back off to the North Pole.
Zoe Christopher from Sanderson Arcade said: “It was really difficult choosing the final winner of the competition as there were so many great entries.
“But all the judges agreed that Charlie’s picture was excellent and it really does look fantastic displayed on the side of the car.”
