Morpeth is preparing to play its part in the annual Women’s World Day of Prayer.
A service will be held at St Robert’s Church in Oldgate next week as part of prayer events in more than 170 countries.
The Ecumenical service is a major event in the Morpeth Churches Together calendar, and features music by a choir and instrumentalists drawn from parishioners across Morpeth and Mitford.
Men, as well as women, are welcome, and Morpeth Mayor Nic Best and Mayoress Joan Howard will attend.
This year the service has been prepared by the Christian women of The Bahamas and is entitled, ‘Jesus said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you?”’. The music will have a Bahamian flavour.
It takes place on Friday, March 6, at 2pm. Refreshments will be available.
