Budding young artists have helped to brush up a community building in Morpeth with their designs.
A 10ft-high mural is brightening up the iLearn centre in Stobhill thanks to funding from local housing provider Isos and the Esh Group.
Painted by Ross Cessford, the mural incorporates the winning entries from Lucy Billham, from Bedlington, Lily Waters, of Stakeford, and Aisling Calvert-Hewison, from Willington Quay, who took part in an Isos drawing competition.
Aisling, seven, drew a picture of a giant panda in the woods, Lucy, eight, drew a colourful fox and six-year-old Lily’s design featured an owl. They were inspired after going along to a family fun day in Plessey Woods Country Park to mark the opening of a sculpture trail.
As well as the mural, work has also been carried out to redesign the garden area of the iLearn centre.
There is now a paved seating area for visitors to enjoy and it is hoped that a polytunnel will be installed at the site following plans to host some horticultural classes at the community hub.
