EXCITEMENT is building after the launch of a competition to find the Face of Rutherfords.
Rutherfords of Morpeth has teamed up with the Morpeth Herald to find a woman, aged 21 upwards, to represent the prestigious Bridge Street store and model in fashion shoots, appear in adverts and meet shoppers during special in-store events.
Last week’s launch of the competition has generated plenty of interest, especially because, unlike most beauty contests, there is a unique twist as Rutherfords is not placing any upper age limit or size on the local girl who wants to become the Face of Rutherfords.
Jane Rutherford, from the family-owned store, said: “We’ve already had a lot of positive feedback with people talking about the Face of Rutherfords competition.
“It’s a great opportunity for a local girl from Morpeth or the surrounding area to win the title and have a lot of fun representing us.
“We’re looking for a real woman to become the Face of Rutherfords — someone who is attractive, stylish and young at heart, with height and weight in proportion, who will take a great pride in representing our department store and who will reflect our image.”
As well as being crowned the Face of Rutherfords, the winner will receive a £250 shopping voucher to spend in the store and a chance to model in a special photo-shoot to unveil Rutherfords’ autumn/winter fashion collection in the Morpeth Herald.
To stand a chance of winning, contestants should send a photograph and 150 words on why they think they should be named the Face of Rutherfords.
Entries should be sent to the Morpeth Herald at 17 Newgate Street, Morpeth, Northumberland, NE61 1AW by the closing date of Monday, August 20.
